T R A V E L

Fun, exciting, new experiences are what often come to mind when we plan trips. We spend months or weeks dreaming about sitting on a warm, sandy beach or snowboarding in fresh powder and just “can’t wait” for the day we get to go. Maybe travel for you means a quick business trip to a cool city with a 70 minute flight on a private airplane where there is no traffic to get to your destination. These perfect situations are ones for which we can hope, at the same time doing our best to manifest the best experience possible.

UNFORTUNATELY... as we ALL know - things sometimes don’t go as planned. Maybe your job calls you to some random metropolis requiring 15 hours of planes, trains and automobiles, only to have your most important work meeting of the year set for an hour after you land. Or perhaps, on your way to Bali, you use the airport bathrooms and pick up some unwanted bug before starting your dream vacation. Public spaces like security lines can be full of germs - and are perfect places to catch a cold when asked to take your shoes off for a double screening (remember to always keep an extra pair of socks in your carry on). Even if you arrive at your destination with zero hassle, you never know when you might eat a “bad” piece of fish or a veggie with a parasite clinging to it. Travel can be exciting and sometimes we just don’t know what surprises might arise. One thing you CAN do to better ensure that fewer health (or energetic) disappointments come your way is TRAVEL WITH YOUR doTERRA Essential Oils Travel pack.

My 8 favorites travel oils may not end up being EXACTLY the same as the ones you choose for travel, however, if you’re just starting out with an Oil Practice, or are looking for a new idea or two, I hope you find this information useful. These oils, tucked in to ONE COMPACT CASE, will serve most purposes for wellness and contentment while on the road.

SO - what can you do with these oils?

LEMON:

IN THE MORNING and throughout the DAY

  • Feeling lethargic or tired? INHALE Lemon Oil directly to re energize!

  • Put 2-3 drops of Lemon oil in your WATER in the morning (and throughout the day) for internal detoxing (use glass or metal, no plastic cups!).

  • Lemon Oil can help stave off: COLDS, FEVER and INFECTION

  • Lemon Oil also aids in promoting great blood CIRCULATION

  • DIFFUSE Lemon Oil to clear energy in a room - helps with enhancing the Mind/Body/Spirit connection. Helps establish mental clarity.

  • SKIN: can be applied directly to skin to support the treatment of ACNE.

  • Remember - Lemon Oil is photosensitizing - meaning it makes your skin sensitive to the sun! (Always use sunscreen!)

  • Apply to skin at NIGHT ONLY

PEPPERMINT:

ENERGIZE, WAKE UP AND KEEP YOUR HEAD CLEAR

  • Place a few drops on your temples and:

  • Feel your head tension ease!

  • Ease “twitchy” eye

  • Stop sneezing

  • Reduce Fever

  • INHALE directly to reduce or eliminate MOTION SICKNESS including:

  • Dizziness

  • Nausea

  • Fatigue

  • TO ENERGIZE IN THE MORNING:

  • Emulsify with epsom salt and pour into a bath (soothes tired, achy joints) OR:

  • Mix a couple of drops Peppermint with fractionated coconut oil and use as a body oil after showering.

  • DIFFUSE to on INHALE directly to concentrate or CLEAR a “foggy” MIND.

  • Put 1-2 drops in a glass of COLD WATER and drink to refresh your body and HYDRATE before your flight.

  • Put 2-3 drops in HOT WATER and make TEA.

  • DIFFUSE, or apply DIRECTLY to surfaces to REPEL ants, bugs (and any other pests or critters) .

Deep Blue Rub:

EASE SORE MUSCLES

Comes in travel packs (or LARGER tubes if you prefer) - super handy for when you need it!

  • Apply a small amount topically to any area that feels sore, I often use on:

  • Lower Back

  • Shoulders

  • Chest (aids with breathing)

  • Knee joints

  • Anywhere on my body that feels “sore”

  • Also comes in a ROLLER and UNDILUTED versions.

  • **Make sure you “test” a small area of your skin as Deep Blue contains Wintergreen Oil, which can feel very strong to some people.

OnGuard (doTERRA immunity blend):

STAYING WELL - on the ROAD and at BEDTIME

  • Add two to three drops in a veggie capsule (with a couple drops of Fractionated Coconut Oil) for an immune boost***

  • DIFFUSE 3-4 drops (blends well with Lavender, Peppermint) in the diffuser of your choice.

  • ANYTIME: Make OnGuard + Lemon + Honey = TEA

  • Great to have these oils on hand on the AIRPLANE - you can ask for HOT WATER and make tea while in the air

  • Your TEA will act as a NATURAL DIFFUSER to CLEAN the AIR around you AND your immune and respiratory function will be supported

  • 2 Drops OnGuard + 2 Drops Lemon + Honey (optional) to taste

  • Brush your teeth with OnGuard TOOTHPASTE (perfect travel size packets) shown here - my absolute favorite!

  • ***A few cautions with this oil: Possible skin sensitivity. Keep out of reach of children. If you are pregnant, nursing, or under a doctor’s care, consult your physician. Avoid contact with eyes, inner ears, and sensitive areas. Avoid sunlight or UV rays for up to 12 hours after applying.

Frankincense:

SKIN ROUTINE

  • Great for fading out scars and skin imperfections

  • Eases Burns and minor skin irritations

  • Rub Frankincense on your hands after a long day of travel for soothing effect.

  • Apply 1-2 drops to desired area on your skin. Dilute with doTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil to minimize skin sensitivity.

OTHER USES

  • RELAXATION: Mix 3-4 drops with water and DIFFUSE.

  • INTERNAL: Dilute 1 drop in glass of water and drink

  • Apply a few drops to the bottoms of your feet to RELAX and BALANCE your MOOD

  • Take one to two drops in a veggie capsule to support healthy immune, nervous, digestive and cellular function

Melaleuca: (Tea Tree)

SKIN ROUTINE

  • Combine 1–2 drops with your facial cleanser for added cleansing properties, or apply to skin after shaving - rejuvenates the skin!

  • MY FAVORITE: You can also mix with a drop or 2 of your preferred carrier oil - I like this Rose Oil for my face to blend with doTERRA Essential Oils.

  • Great on the face 2-3 drops applied directly (you can mix with Frankincense and/or Lavender too)

  • Apply to fingernails and toenails after showering to purify and keeps nails looking healthy.

  • For occasional skin irritations, apply 1–2 drops of Melaleuca essential oil onto affected area.

  • Great for any sort of fungus - use topically (foot, nail, etc)

OTHER USES

  • Diffuse (with Lemon oil) to keep insects away

  • Add 1–2 drops to water, citrus drinks, or veggie caps to support healthy immune system function.

  • Add a few drops to a spray bottle with water and use on surfaces to protect against environmental threats.

Lavender:

SLEEP - get your ‘Zs’:

  • Put on the bottoms of your feet and fall asleep FAST!

  • Diffuse for a relaxing mood (and to clear the air for sleep)

  • Apply Lavender directly (with or without a carrier oil) to soothe minor skin irritations (bug bites, scrapes, itching)

  • Put 5 drops of Lavender with water in a Tiny Glass Spray Bottle and spray to freshen your pillow, sheets, mattress, rental car, etc (or apply a few drops directly to bedding if you do not have a spray bottle)

  • Take internally in a gel cap to reduce travel anxiety

  • To relax and ease tension at the end of the day, emulsify a few drops with Epsom Salt and pour in a warm bath.

Oregano:

GENERAL HEALTH:

  • INTERNALLY: Take one drop in a veggie cap (or in a glass of water) to maintain healthy DIGESTION, IMMUNE and RESPIRATORY function while on the road.*

  • REMOVE SKIN TAGS: Dilute one to two drops with doTERRA Fractionated Coconut Oil then apply to desired area (do every day for 1-2 weeks, your tags will “fall off”)!!**

  • SURFACE CLEANER: for those yucky hotel rooms or airplane seats (order a small glass spray bottle and make before you leave for the airport): Put 3 drops in a 4-ounce spray bottle with water.

  • ****You can also make a spray with the same ratio using OnGuard, if you prefer - either will work for cleaning and disinfecting surfaces.

  • DIFFUSE to clear the stale air in a Hotel Room.
